Several clients have asked that I post updates on monthly stars. They are not as big an influence as the other stars in a chart. They can be triggers, however, that may have positive or negative bearings on a chart.
Right now, in February 2010, the monthly 5 is in the northeast. This star has the ability to be disturbing. In many charts, it will not be activated, but if you spend a lot of time in the northeast part of your home and you experience difficulties in February, try adding a little of the colors yellow or gold, playing music in that area, particularly piano music, or adding a bowl of still water.
The monthly 8, the ruling star, is in the southwest. This is where the annual 5 is during 2010. The 8 may be responsible for mellowing the more negative aspects of the 5 during this month. When the 8 moves to the east in March, the same remedies as noted above for the monthly 5 might be appropriate in the southwest if one notices negative experiences.
These are the locations of the monthly stars in February. 9 (Fire)- east; 8 (Earth)- southwest; 7 (Metal)- north; 6 (Metal)- south; 5 (Earth)- northeast; 4 (Wood)- west; 3 (Wood)- northwest; 2 (Earth)- center; and 1 (Water)- southeast.
In March, just subtract 1 from each number to find the star that will take its place. For instance, the 8 will replace the 9 in the east. The monthly 5 in the northeast will become a 4. The 1 will become a 9, simply starting the nine-number sequence again.
While the 8 and the 5 are always worth watching, if you have been told about either potentially auspicious or inauspicious areas of your space, monthly stars can make differences in these areas. They can add to and enhance a productive cycle, or control an auspicious star, partially neutralizing its effect.
As an example, a client needs to do some home repairs in an area with the stars 5, 2, and 9 in the chart. This is a particularly unlucky and disastrous combination. This area is also where things seem to go wrong with the house. The porch roof leaks and has been occupied by bats in the past, a water line broke there, and there was a nasty hornet infestation in the wall last summer. To make matters worse, in 2009, the annual star in this area was a 5. The annual star 4 in 2010 may be somewhat better than the annual star in 2009, but probably won't have much effect. My suggestion is that they hold off on doing major porch repairs until the monthly star is metal, the remedy for this combination. In this case, I will also give them a list of daily stars, hoping they will make repairs on metal days, in a month with a metal star present. Otherwise, disturbing this combination with demo and construction activities may bring unfortunate results, including potential accidents to those working there.
If they'll hold off the repairs until such time that the monthly star is metal, could you suggest some tips on how to temporarily fix the roof or maybe get it ready for the major renovation?
